10x Genomics expands proteomics with Proteintech Genomics acquisition, adds Human Discovery Panel
TXG•10x Genomics has acquired Proteintech Genomics, adding its antibody-based Human Discovery Panel to enhance single cell and spatial proteomic workflows. This deal integrates Proteintech’s high-plex proteomic solutions with 10x’s Flex chemistry and Atera platform, expanding its multiomic analysis capabilities without altering near-term financial outlook.
1. Acquisition Details
10x Genomics has acquired Proteintech Genomics, a division of Proteintech Group, bringing onboard its high-plex proteomic solutions designed for single cell and spatial applications. The acquisition includes the Human Discovery Panel, the largest antibody-based single cell protein panel compatible with Flex chemistry and the Flex Apex assay.
2. Proteomic Capabilities Expansion
By integrating Proteintech’s technologies, 10x Genomics will enable researchers to simultaneously analyze intracellular proteins, cell surface proteins and transcriptomic profiles within sequencing-compatible workflows. This enhancement solidifies 10x’s position in the growing multiomic market by offering richer data from single cell and spatial biology experiments.
3. Strategic Integration and Outlook
Management expects the transaction to have no meaningful impact on near-term financial guidance while supporting the broader vision of combining transcriptomic and proteomic analysis. The acquisition complements planned protein capabilities for the recently launched Atera platform and accelerates access to integrated multiomic approaches for global research efforts.
