374Water Awarded Minnesota PFAS Destruction Funding, Project to Launch April 2026
374Water secured a state-funded Waste Destruction Services project via the Minnesota LCCMR and ENRTF to deploy its mobile AirSCWO System in St. Cloud for PFAS destruction in biosolids and water treatment residuals. The pilot expected to begin April 2026 sets the stage for scaling commercial sales of PFAS remediation technology.
1. Minnesota Awards PFAS Destruction Project to 374Water
374Water has secured a Waste Destruction Services contract from the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources and the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund to eliminate PFAS from biosolids and water treatment residuals for the City of St. Cloud. The mobile AirSCWO 1 System will be deployed beginning April 2026 to treat both undigested and post-thermal hydrolysis digested sludge, as well as spent granular activated carbon. The project involves collaboration with Barr Engineering Co., the University of St. Thomas, MnTAP at the University of Minnesota and the City of St. Cloud. A comprehensive evaluation will measure PFAS destruction efficiency and assess options for reuse or disposal of treated water and solids. This initiative follows Minnesota’s landmark $850 million 2018 PFAS settlement and positions 374Water for accelerated commercial sales in 2026 by demonstrating scalable PFAS eradication technology for municipal partners.
2. Board Expansion Strengthens Financial Governance
374Water has appointed Charles Weiser, CPA, to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Weiser brings over two decades of finance leadership, having served as CFO of Alonti Catering Kitchens and EVP–CFO at American Green Technology, and as Managing Director at Imperial-Texas. He holds an MBA in Finance/Accounting and a BBA in General Business from the University of Texas, Austin, and is licensed in Texas and Florida. Stephen J. Jones, Chair and Interim CEO, emphasized that Weiser’s expertise in strategic planning, turnaround operations and private equity will support the commercialization of AirSCWO and the expansion of the Waste Destruction Services business. The appointment, made under the company’s agreement with its largest shareholder, enhances governance ahead of the next commercialization phase and underscores management’s commitment to creating long-term shareholder value.
