3M expands AWS collaboration to deploy optical connectivity technology in data centers
MMM•3M expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services, which plans to deploy 3M’s Expanded Beam Optical platform across data center infrastructure. 3M expanded its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services, which plans to deploy its Expanded Beam Optical platform across data center infrastructure. The optical connectivity business is expected to contribute nearly $500 million to the U.S. economy, and the collaboration and related investments are expected to support more than 500 jobs, including over 100 new roles through 2027. The agreement builds on plans announced earlier this year to double production capacity at 3M’s Menomonie, Wisconsin, manufacturing facility.
