Zillow's 2026 Agent Trends Survey finds 49% of real estate agents using AI tools daily while ease of use has overtaken cost and time savings as their top tech priority. Zillow Pro, launching soon, will consolidate CRM, client insights and branding into an AI-powered platform to reduce workflow fragmentation.

1. Agents Prioritize Ease of Use Over Cost and Time

The survey finds that ease of use has overtaken cost and time savings as the primary factor agents consider when selecting technology, even as agents continue to juggle two to four different platforms each week, highlighting persistent workflow fragmentation.

2. AI Becomes Routine for Nearly Half of Agents

Nearly 49% of agents report using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude on a daily basis, with team-affiliated agents adopting AI more frequently than independent agents, while roughly one-quarter of agents use AI less than weekly or not at all.

3. Zillow Pro to Streamline Fragmented Workflows

To address fragmented workflows, Zillow is launching Zillow Pro, an AI-powered platform that will integrate customer relationship management, buyer and seller insights and premium branding tools into a single dashboard to reduce cognitive load and streamline operations.

4. Client Affordability Misconceptions and Pre-Approval Trends

The survey also reveals client-side challenges: about half of new buyers overestimate their purchasing power and only half arrive with mortgage pre-approval, prompting features like verified pre-approval and the Buyability tool to display accurate affordability estimates directly alongside listings.
