ABB Launches IE5 Ultra-Premium Efficiency Motors and Expands Digital Substation Technologies
In March 2025 ABB launched IE5 ultra-premium efficiency low-voltage induction motors with a rare-earth-free design offering up to 40% lower energy losses, advanced IoT monitoring and improved reliability for industrial automation. ABB has also deployed new digital-substation technologies to enhance grid stability and power-electronics integration.
