ABBV•AbbVie appointed John M. Carethers as a Class II director on October 14, expanding its board from 12 to 13 directors.

Carethers also joined AbbVie’s Public Policy and Sustainability Committee as an independent director. He is vice chancellor for health sciences at the University of California San Diego and previously served as a director at Avantor.
