ABBV•AbbVie raised its 2025 adjusted profit forecast to $13.95-$13.99 per share after third-quarter revenue of $17.40 billion and adjusted profit of $3.82 per share beat expectations. Skyrizi sales rose 22.7% to $5.78 billion.
1. Forecast raised
AbbVie raised its annual adjusted profit forecast to $13.95-$13.99 per share, from a prior range of $13.76-$13.96. The new forecast includes a 69-cent-per-share impact from acquired in-process research and development and milestone expenses booked through the third quarter. Third-quarter revenue was $17.40 billion, above analysts’ $17.31 billion estimate, while adjusted profit of $3.82 per share topped expectations of $3.75.
2. Immunology growth
Skyrizi sales increased 22.7% year over year to $5.78 billion, above analysts’ $5.75 billion estimate. Rinvoq revenue rose nearly 24% to $2.71 billion. The drugs are helping offset declining sales of Humira, which lost U.S. patent exclusivity in 2023.
3. Pipeline and neuroscience
AbbVie’s neuroscience revenue climbed 19% to $3.39 billion, helped by Botox Therapeutic and Vraylar. Its $10.9 billion acquisition of Apogee Therapeutics in June added experimental eczema and asthma treatments; the deal is expected to reduce profit through 2027 before contributing to earnings in 2032.
