Acadia falls after Alzheimer's-related drug narrowly misses goal in study
ACAD•Acadia Pharmaceuticals said its experimental drug remlifanserin narrowly missed the main goal in a mid-stage study of Alzheimer's disease psychosis. Its shares fell 15.6% to $21.45 in premarket trading.
1. Trial results
The study tested remlifanserin for hallucinations and delusions associated with Alzheimer's disease psychosis. Acadia said trends suggest continuing development of the 60 mg once-daily dose and that it plans to continue enrolling patients in two ongoing late-stage studies.
