Accendra Health names Kenneth Gardner-Smith as next CEO, effective Q4 2026

Board and commercial leadership changes

Gardner-Smith will stay on the board as a non-independent director, stepping down from the Our People & Culture Committee and Audit Committee.

Scott Lloyd was appointed chief commercial officer effective Oct. 5, 2026; he co-founded Extrakare and most recently led development and strategy at Evergreen Nephrology.

CEO transition planned for early Q4 2026

Accendra Health named Kenneth Gardner-Smith president and CEO, effective early Q4 2026, succeeding Edward A. Pesicka on his retirement.

Gardner-Smith is CEO of Veritas Veterinary Partners; previously held operating roles at DaVita, including managing $1.5 billion in operations.

Pesicka will retire from the board when the CEO transition takes effect, remaining an advisor during the handover.
