ACU•Acme United’s third-quarter net sales rose 18% year over year to $58.01 million, while diluted EPS increased 74% to $0.80. Results included a $4 million tariff refund and $1.8 million in costs related to a facility closure.
1. Sales and earnings
Acme United reported third-quarter net sales of $58.01 million, up 18% year over year and above the $56.39 million consensus estimate. Diluted EPS rose 74% to $0.80, and net income was $3.44 million. The company said all business units and international markets contributed to sales growth, with strong back-to-school sales.
2. Costs and outlook
The quarter included a $4 million tariff refund that reduced cost of goods sold, partly offset by $1.8 million in costs tied to the DMT facility closure and production shift to Asia. Acme United expects My Medic to generate most of its profitability in the fourth quarter due to seasonality. It said rising transportation and raw material costs are being offset by operational efficiencies, and expects more than $1 million in annual savings from the DMT plant closure in 2027.
