Acurx Pharmaceuticals announced published preclinical results showing that all three tested inhibitors reduced MRSA burden in a mouse thigh infection model. Compared with linezolid, the candidates preserved anaerobic bacterial communities and metabolic function, suggesting a potential microbiome-sparing class effect.
2. Further optimization
Structural modifications improved solubility and systemic exposure. The company said further structural or dosing optimization may enhance tissue-level efficacy.
