The technology, supporting detailed embossing and dissimilar material pre-sewing, is slated for production on OEM vehicle seat programs this year.

Adient unveiled Sculpted Soft Trim, a soft, breathable formed automotive seating trim that uses an automated forming process to produce large panels or intricate parts like child seat anchor covers and headrests.
2. Manufacturing Efficiency Gains
The new process reduces cycle times by roughly 50%, replaces up to twelve individual cut-and-sew patterns with a single trim pattern and significantly lowers complex sewing labor requirements.
3. Enhanced Design Capabilities
The technology supports embossing, debossing, graphics, custom badging and pre-sewn dissimilar materials, enabling three-dimensional shapes, varied firmness and consistent high-end craftsmanship at scale.
4. Global Production Rollout
Sculpted Soft Trim is available globally and will enter production on seats across multiple OEM vehicle programs within the current year.
