A CIO survey of 40 IT leaders found Adobe as the sole vendor with a negative spending score despite its nearly $9.9 billion in free cash flow.

Adobe Analytics data shows US retailers generated $8.3 billion in online sales on the first Prime Day event day, making it this year’s largest single e-commerce day, with total four-day spending forecast at $26.3 billion. Traffic sourced from third-party AI platforms jumped 98%, driving conversion rates 50% higher than non-AI channels.
2. Negative Position in 2026 IT Budget Survey
A survey of 40 CIOs on 2026 software, cloud, cybersecurity and AI budgets found growth expectations of 6.2% for software, 10.1% for cloud and dedicated AI budgets in 68% of companies. Adobe was the only vendor with a negative spending score, trailing Microsoft—85% of CIOs plan higher spend—and AWS at 56%.
