ADS-TEC Energy Rolls Out 2,500+ Battery-Buffered ChargePosts, Expands Supermarket Deployments

ADSEADSE

ADS-TEC Energy’s CEO showcased over 2,500 deployed battery-buffered ChargePosts worldwide, including four units with eight high-power charging points at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen station, highlighting local grid support without expansion. The company plans additional supermarket ChargePosts and urges regulators to reward storage flexibility over costly grid upgrades.

1. Volta-Xchange Presentation

At the Volta-Xchange conference in Stuttgart, CEO Thomas Speidel emphasized the role of battery storage as the bridge between variable generation, available grid capacity and actual demand, stressing that local energy management now intersects grid, storage and application.

2. Deployment Milestones

ADS-TEC Energy has deployed more than 2,500 battery-buffered ChargePosts globally, with a recent install of four ChargePosts delivering eight ultra-fast charging points at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen station and additional units set to go live at major supermarket sites.

3. Advocating Regulatory Change

Speidel urged that regulatory frameworks assign value to system flexibility, arguing that battery-based storage solutions offer faster, more economical and resilient support for rising electrification demands compared with traditional grid expansion.
