AECOM hands over Cork University Hospital surgical hub to Ireland’s HSE as first facility opens
ACM•AECOM completed and handed over the Cork University Hospital surgical hub, the first facility to open under Ireland’s HSE program. Three additional hubs are scheduled in Waterford, Limerick and Galway.
1. First hub opens
AECOM completed delivery and handover of the Cork University Hospital surgical hub, which opened under Ireland’s HSE program. Three additional hubs are scheduled at University Hospital Waterford, University Hospital Limerick’s O’Connell Avenue site and Merlin Park University Hospital Galway. The modular facilities span 5,000 to 6,000 square meters and target higher-volume, lower-complexity procedures to ease surgical waiting lists ahead of planned elective hospitals in Dublin, Cork and Galway.
