AECOM joins Arup, Campaign for Better Transport consortium to draft UK bus stop guidance

AECOM formed a consortium with Arup and Campaign for Better Transport to produce UK national bus stop safety and accessibility guidance.
The UK Department for Transport appointed the group to consolidate dispersed standards into a single national framework for stopping places.
Work supports statutory guidance enabled by the Bus Services Act 2025, which requires National Highways and some local authorities to consider it.
The guidance targets local authorities, combined authorities and operators involved in the planning, design, delivery and management of bus stopping places.
The consortium plans stakeholder engagement to identify good practice and improve access to bus services across England.
