ACM•AECOM appointed to Stage 2 of New Richmond Bridge project
- AECOM was appointed lead design consultant for Stage 2 of Transport for New South Wales’ New Richmond Bridge project.
- Work covers a new flood-resilient bridge over the Hawkesbury River at North Richmond, delivered with lead contractor Fulton Hogan.
- Design calls for two lanes each way, with the structure about 10 meters higher than the existing bridge to improve flood performance.
- The project includes a bypass south of Richmond’s town center to ease congestion.
- The existing Richmond Bridge will be repurposed as a walking and cycling link, with lookout and rest areas.
