Aehr Lands Order for FOX-XP Systems Testing Nine 300mm Wafers at 3,500W

AEHRAEHR

Aehr Test Systems received a follow-on order for a new FOX-XP system and upgrade to an existing unit for production wafer-level test and burn-in of silicon photonics ICs in data center optical interconnects. Each system tests nine 300mm wafers in parallel at 3,500 watts per wafer, shipping in H2 2026.

1. Order Details

Aehr Test Systems secured a follow-on purchase order from its lead silicon photonics customer for one new ultra-high-power FOX-XP wafer-level burn-in system and an upgrade of an existing unit. The order underscores expanding production volumes for data center optical interconnects and emerging AI optical I/O architectures.

2. System Capabilities

Each FOX-XP configuration supports full 300mm SECS/GEM automation and can test up to nine wafers simultaneously at 3,500 watts per wafer. Systems include Aehr’s FOX WaferPak AutoAligner for hands-free, high-volume production screening of silicon photonics integrated circuits.

3. Market Drivers

Demand for silicon photonics solutions is accelerating with next-generation AI data centers pursuing higher-speed optical connectivity, including 800G and 1.6T transceivers, linear-drive optics, packaged optics and co-packaged architectures. This growth drives need for wafer-level reliability screening to reduce costs and improve uptime.

4. Delivery Timeline

Aehr expects to ship both the new FOX-XP system and the upgraded configuration in the second half of 2026, aligning with its recent manufacturing capacity enhancements and supporting anticipated revenue growth from expanded AI infrastructure deployments.
