1. Tax Credit Sale Details
Aemetis completed the sale of $18 million in Section 45Z clean fuel production tax credits, receiving $6 million from 2025 ethanol output and $12 million from year-to-date 2026 ethanol and RNG production. Net cash proceeds totaled approximately $14.5 million after transaction costs, with credits valued at $0.33 per ethanol gallon and $15.20 per MMBtu of RNG under the June 12, 2026 DOE 45ZCF-GREET model.
2. Strategic Monetization and Outlook
This marks the company’s second and third 45Z credit transactions in six months, illustrating its recurring cash flow contribution from tax-credit monetization. Aemetis anticipates further sales in 2026 and beyond, driven by planned RNG volume increases at the Keyes plant and energy efficiency gains from mechanical vapor recompression, while imminent DOE and USDA updates to emission and feedstock calculators are expected to raise future credit values.
