Aemetis starts operations at two new dairy biogas digesters
AMTX•Aemetis began operating two digesters, expanding its network to 14 digesters serving 17 dairy facilities, with expected annual renewable natural gas output of about 600,000 MMBtu.
1. Digesters begin operating
Aemetis started operating two new dairy biogas digesters, bringing its network to 14 digesters. The network receives manure from 17 dairy facilities and is expected to produce about 600,000 MMBtu of renewable natural gas annually.
2. Pipeline and expansion plans
Biogas travels through 36 miles of pipeline to a central processing facility in Keyes, California, where it supplies PG&E’s gas network. Agreements cover installations at 50 area dairies, and Aemetis expects equipment already in inventory to shorten construction times for the next 12 installations.
