AerCap Delivers First of Three A321neo Jets to Azerbaijan Airlines
AER•AerCap delivered the first of three Airbus A321neo jets to Azerbaijan Airlines at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Hamburg, marking the debut of A321neo in AZAL’s fleet. The delivery is part of a 2024 agreement for three A321neo and three A320neo aircraft, with remaining units due by November 2026.
1. First A321neo Delivery
AerCap completed delivery of its first Airbus A321neo to Azerbaijan Airlines at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Hamburg, marking the model’s introduction into AZAL’s fleet with a handover ceremony led by both carriers’ commercial chiefs.
2. 2024 Fleet Agreement Details
The handover is part of a 2024 agreement for a total of six neo-family aircraft (three A321neo and three A320neo), following two A320neo deliveries earlier this year and with remaining units due by November 2026.

AZAL anticipates that the A321neo’s improved fuel efficiency and range will support network expansion, enhance passenger comfort, and reduce operating costs as part of its long-term fleet modernization strategy.
