AVAV•AeroVironment plans Dayton-area expansion
AeroVironment plans a USD 15 million expansion in the Dayton area, adding a 46,000-square-foot advanced biomanufacturing facility in Xenia, Ohio.
The site targets 1,200 liters of biomanufacturing capacity with downstream processing, designed for future expansion.
Initial production focus and expected economic impact
Initial output is expected to focus on drop-in biofuel, bio-cementation systems and rare-earth recovery proteins to support commercial customers and the Department of War.
Production is expected to start within a year, targeting military-relevant volumes over the same period. The project is expected to create 200 permanent jobs and deliver an estimated USD 28 million in annual regional economic impact.
