AES’s Maximo Deploys 100 MW Robotic Solar Project Using Four Units
Maximo deployed 100 MW of solar at AES’ Bellefield site with four robotic units that achieved over one module per minute, doubling standard installation output. This milestone launches commercial robotic solar production and integrates AI robotics, NVIDIA simulation, and AWS analytics to speed AES’s utility-scale builds.
1. Completion of 100 MW Robotic Installation
Maximo, the solar robotics unit incubated by AES, completed installation of 100 MW at the Bellefield complex in Virginia, scaling from a single robot to a coordinated fleet of four units operating in parallel.
2. Robotics Fleet Performance and Productivity Gains
The coordinated fleet delivered over one module per minute and up to 24 modules per shift hour per person, nearly doubling traditional installation output while maintaining high safety and quality standards alongside skilled union technicians.
3. AI, Simulation and Cloud Integration
Development leveraged NVIDIA Omniverse simulation, AI-driven modeling and edge AI, together with AWS computing and real-time analytics, enabling rapid validation, continuous improvements and paving the way for an upcoming version 4.0 upgrade to further boost scale and efficiency.
