Aevex wins $41.6 million in contracts for mine-clearing systems
AVEX•Aevex received two contracts totaling $41.6 million for U.S. Navy mine countermeasures systems: $15.6 million for SightGlass and $26 million for Fisher.
1. Two system contracts
Aevex received two contracts totaling $41.6 million from the Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Robotic and Autonomous Systems. The $15.6 million SightGlass contract covers production and operation of a mine-hunting and identification system, while a separate $26 million contract covers production and operation of Fisher, designed to reacquire and neutralize mines.
2. Navy vessel capabilities
The awards expand mine countermeasures capabilities across the U.S. Navy’s existing GARC fleet and its newer Lynx and next-generation Chaser unmanned surface vessels.
