CARTCART

Airbnb will list thousands of boutique hotels in 20 cities including New York, Paris and London and introduce grocery delivery in over 25 U.S. markets through Instacart plus car rentals with a 20% credit toward future stays. First-quarter revenue rose 18% year-over-year to $2.68 billion.

1. Service Expansion

The company is adding thousands of boutique and independent hotel listings in 20 major cities including New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome and Singapore. It will also roll out grocery delivery in more than 25 U.S. markets through an Instacart partnership, car rentals with a 20% stay credit, airport pickups in over 160 cities and luggage storage at more than 15,000 locations.

2. Booking Incentives

Guests booking featured hotels receive up to 15% credit toward future home stays and benefit from a price-match guarantee credited to their account if a lower rate is found. First-time car rental users will earn a 20% credit toward their next stay under the new service credit program.

3. AI Features

New AI tools include a review-summarization feature and a multilingual customer support assistant available in 11 languages, plus a shared itinerary planner mapping reservations alongside nearby restaurants and activities. The company plans to launch an AI-powered listing comparison tool and voice-activated customer support later in the year.

4. Financial Performance and Regulatory Context

First-quarter revenue reached $2.68 billion, an 18% increase year-over-year, prompting the company to raise its full-year guidance. The expansion follows regulatory pressure, including a €65 million penalty in Spain, license non-renewals in Barcelona and a near-total ban on short-term rentals in New York.
