Airbus delivered around 72 aircraft in September, sources say
Airbus delivered around 72 aircraft in September, nearly matching 73 a year earlier, industry sources said. The provisional total is above analysts’ estimate of 68 and comes as the company targets around 870 deliveries for the year.
1. September deliveries
Airbus delivered around 72 aircraft in September, nearly matching 73 a year earlier, industry sources said. Airbus declined to comment on the provisional total ahead of a monthly industrial bulletin due on October 8. Jefferies analysts estimated 68 deliveries.
2. Annual target and delays
The pickup in deliveries follows concerns about delays, including a recent industrial glitch involving A321neo parts and existing shortages of engines and other parts. Commercial CEO Lars Wagner said this week he was “very confident” of meeting the full-year target of around 870 jets, which Airbus has informally defined as 850 to 890.
