AirJoule Technologies won the Water Tech Innovation of the Year award for its metal-organic framework–based water-from-air platform. The company is moving from pilot deployments to commercial contracts in 2026 with system rollouts across the United States and Middle East and partnerships with GE Vernova and Carrier.

1. Award Recognition

AirJoule Technologies was named the Water Tech Innovation of the Year in the 2026 CleanTech Breakthrough Awards, selected by an independent panel based on innovation, performance and market impact. The accolade validates AirJoule’s water-from-air platform that leverages Nobel Prize–derived metal-organic frameworks and proprietary vacuum chambers.

2. Commercial Transition

Following pilot deployments in Texas, Arizona, California and Dubai in 2025, AirJoule is transitioning to commercial contracts in 2026. The company expects to launch its first commercial systems this year across data center, defense, industrial and residential markets.

3. Strategic Partnerships

AirJoule has established partnerships with GE Vernova and Carrier Global Corporation, and executed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. An exclusive distribution agreement in the Middle East and participation in the Net Zero Innovation Hub program further support its commercial pipeline.

4. Market Implications

AirJoule’s ability to produce high-purity water from air in relative humidity as low as 20% addresses water scarcity in arid regions and reduces reliance on municipal or aquifer sources. By utilizing low-grade waste heat from data centers, the platform also enhances energy efficiency and water sustainability for mission-critical facilities.
