AIRO names Rich Cimino vice president of engineering for US drone, avionics units

AIRO Group named Richard “Rich” Cimino vice president of engineering for its US drone and avionics businesses, effective July 27, 2026.
Based in Phoenix, he will lead engineering strategy at Aspen Avionics, spanning product development, certification, and manufacturing engineering.
The role also covers engineering initiatives across AIRO’s US drone business, including technology roadmaps.
Cimino previously held engineering leadership roles at Anduril Industries, overseeing Counter-UAS, air defense, and autonomous systems programs.
He earlier served in senior engineering leadership at Panasonic Avionics, managing large-scale software and hardware development for in-flight systems.
