Akamai and NVIDIA Launch Agentless Zero Trust Segmentation for OT and ICS with Q2 2026 Rollout

AKAMAKAM

Akamai has partnered with NVIDIA to integrate its Guardicore Segmentation software with NVIDIA BlueField DPUs, enabling hardware-isolated, agentless zero trust segmentation across OT and ICS environments. The solution targets energy, manufacturing and transportation sectors, offering real-time policy enforcement and is set for global release in Q2 2026.

1. Partnership Overview

Akamai has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to integrate Guardicore Segmentation software with NVIDIA BlueField Data Processing Units (DPUs). This joint solution delivers hardware-isolated zero trust segmentation without agents on operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS), addressing security challenges in mission-critical environments.

2. Technical Innovation

By offloading security tasks from host CPUs to the BlueField DPU, the solution provides deep, out-of-band visibility and real-time policy enforcement. It supports “un-agentable” legacy and fragile industrial equipment, enabling anomaly detection and threat isolation at the hardware level without impacting system performance.

3. Market Impact and Availability

The agentless approach meets stringent regulatory requirements and may reduce cyber insurance risk for energy, manufacturing and transportation operators. The solution is slated for global availability in Q2 2026, positioning Akamai to strengthen its cybersecurity footprint in critical infrastructure markets.
