Akamai to Launch Zero Trust AI Factory Security with NVIDIA’s BlueField-4 STX in H2 2026
AKAM•On June 2, Akamai expanded its security partnership with NVIDIA to integrate Akamai Guardicore Segmentation into NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX storage architecture via NVIDIA DOCA, adding real-time Zero Trust enforcement for AI factory workloads. The solution will launch in H2 2026 with full Vera BlueField-4 STX support on partner platforms in H1 2027.
1. Expansion of Security Collaboration
On June 2, Akamai expanded its security partnership with NVIDIA by integrating Akamai Guardicore Segmentation into the NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX storage architecture via the NVIDIA DOCA software platform. This collaboration embeds Zero Trust enforcement directly into AI factory infrastructure, aiming to protect data, context memory, and autonomous agent workloads at line speed.
2. Technical Architecture and Benefits
The combined solution continuously maps workload interactions across data centers, cloud, Kubernetes clusters, and edge systems, using workload identity and runtime behavior to define segmentation policies. Enforcement occurs in BlueField-4 silicon at the data path, containing threats without consuming GPU, CPU, or storage cycles and limiting blast radius to compromised segments.
3. Market Timing and Availability
Akamai Guardicore Segmentation with NVIDIA BlueField and DOCA is scheduled for general availability in the second half of 2026, with expanded support for Vera BlueField-4 STX on storage and infrastructure partner platforms in the first half of 2027. This roadmap positions Akamai to capture enterprise demand for high-performance AI security solutions.
