Akanda named director Christopher Cooper as chief executive officer, effective Sept. 3, 2026.
Interim CEO and executive director Katie Field resigned from all roles at the company and its subsidiaries, effective Sept. 3, 2026.
Cooper's background and Field consulting agreement
Cooper has served on the board since April 2024 and has more than 20 years of experience in corporate development, finance, operations, consulting and public-company leadership.
He is president of Akanda subsidiary First Towers and Fiber, co-founded First Towers, runs Number 2 Capital and holds several other public-company roles.
Akanda entered a month-to-month consulting agreement on Sept. 9, 2026 with an affiliate of Field for administrative and advisory services.
