Akebia Q2 FY26 turns to net loss of $8.9 million; revenue falls 21.44% to $49.1 million

Akebia posted Q2 2026 revenue of $49.1 million, down 21.44% from a year earlier, as Auryxia revenue fell to $25.5 million.
Net loss widened to $8.9 million from net income of $0.2 million a year earlier, on lower revenue and higher expenses.
Product and pipeline updates
Vafseo net product revenue rose to $21.3 million; patients on therapy climbed 41% from end-Q1 to more than 10,500.
The VOICE interim analysis showed improved safety for Vafseo versus an ESA on mortality and hospitalization (win odds 1.16; p=0.0016).
Akebia also started a Phase 2 open-label basket trial of ebribafusp in three glomerular kidney diseases, with initial data expected in 2027.
