Aker BP partners with Equinor to develop Norway's tight reservoirs
EQNR•Aker BP and Equinor entered a strategic collaboration to develop tight reservoir discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The Norwegian Offshore Directorate estimates mapped tight reservoirs hold around 2,800 million barrels of oil equivalent; work will begin immediately.

Aker BP and Equinor will work together to develop tight reservoir discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. They aim to lower development costs through shared technology, standardization and greater scale, making more discoveries commercially viable.
2. Resource estimates
The Norwegian Offshore Directorate estimates mapped tight reservoirs contain around 2,800 million barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable resources. Many of about 90 discoveries awaiting development decisions are in tight reservoirs, and collaboration work will begin immediately.
