Alaska Air expects Boeing’s 737 MAX 10 to be certified by the end of September, with its first delivery expected next spring. The airline targets passenger service between April and mid-May, though it must complete several months of additional certification work for the pilots’ head-up display after the aircraft is approved. COO Jason Berry called the schedule “sporting” and said, “we’re not panicking yet.”
2. Alaska’s delivery plans
Alaska expects 22 MAX 10 deliveries in 2027 and 30 in 2028. Its January order included 105 MAX 10s and rights for another 35. Berry said the larger aircraft will let Alaska add seats on busy routes such as New York and Boston without adding flights; the airline has no current plans to install lie-flat seats, though Berry said that remains an option.
