This expansion supports over 100 daily departures from its largest Portland hub, which will offer 50% more seats this fall across more than 60 destinations.

Alaska Airlines will open a 14,000-square-foot lounge at Portland International Airport on June 4, featuring more than 230 seats, a fireplace, regionally inspired food and barista-crafted beverages. The project represents an $18 million investment to double the existing space and enhance premium guest experiences.
2. Impact on Portland Hub Operations
Portland is Alaska’s busiest West Coast hub, with over 100 daily departures to more than 60 destinations. By fall, capacity in Portland will increase by 50% compared with two years ago, supported by new services to Jackson Hole, Everett/Paine Field and other markets.
3. Broader Lounge Expansion Plans
This Portland lounge is part of Alaska’s broader strategy to expand its premium footprint, including a 41,000-square-foot Seattle flagship opening in 2027 and new lounges planned for San Diego and Honolulu in early 2028. The airline now operates eight lounges and offers Lounge+ members access to nearly 90 partner lounges worldwide.
