Alibaba Cloud Launches Multi-Model AI Coding Plan with Four Models
Alibaba Cloud’s Model Studio launched an advanced Coding Plan on Feb. 25, bundling four leading open-source AI models (Qwen3.5, GLM-5, MiniMax M2.5, Kimi K2.5) under one subscription with higher token limits. The service lets developers switch freely among models, boosting stability and cloud competitiveness globally.
1. Multi-Model Coding Plan Launch
On February 25, Alibaba Cloud introduced its Model Studio Coding Plan, enabling a single subscription to access four top open-source AI coding models. This marks the first global cloud service offering free switching between multiple coding models under one API.
2. Included Open-Source Models
The plan integrates Qwen3.5 (397 billion parameters), GLM-5, MiniMax M2.5 and Kimi K2.5, expanding Alibaba Cloud’s portfolio to eight programming-focused models. Each model targets different use cases, from multimodal reasoning to advanced Excel automation.
3. Developer Tool Integration
Subscribers can interact with these models through developer environments like Qwen Code, Claude Code, Cline and OpenClaw. The unified subscription simplifies API management and offers higher token limits for sustained large-scale coding tasks.
4. Competitive Impact
By offering multi-model flexibility and stability enhancements, Alibaba Cloud aims to strengthen its position against AWS, Azure and GCP in the AI development market. The new plan could drive increased enterprise adoption and cloud service revenue growth.
