Alibaba unveiled its XuanTie C950 5-nanometer, 3.2 GHz server chip delivering over three times the performance of its XuanTie C920 predecessor. The company is integrating the processor into its Wukong and Accio Work agentic AI platforms while T-Head accelerates in-house chip development to challenge established rivals.

Alibaba revealed its next-gen XuanTie C950, a 5-nanometer RISC-V server CPU running at 3.2 GHz, positioned as the world’s highest-performing RISC-V chip at its internal conference.

2. Performance Advancements

The C950 delivers over three times the processing speed of the XuanTie C920, optimizing inference and cloud computing workloads without disclosing its fabrication partner.

3. Integration into Agentic AI Platforms

Alibaba plans to embed the C950 into its Wukong and Accio Work enterprise AI agent platforms to power autonomous business workflows for small and medium enterprises.

4. Strategic In-House Chip Development

Through its T-Head semiconductor arm and newly formed Token Hub, Alibaba is intensifying in-house design to challenge Nvidia and Huawei in cloud AI hardware markets and prepare for a chip unit spin-off.
