China’s Lunar New Year promotion triggered over 120 million orders on Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen platform within six days, supported by a 3 billion yuan incentive blitz. 1. Record Order Surge

Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen platform processed over 120 million orders in the six-day Lunar New Year period, marking its highest transaction volume since launch and driving significant daily active user gains.

2. Incentive Campaign Details

On February 6, Alibaba launched a 3 billion yuan promotional campaign on Qwen, distributing digital incentives to spur user engagement and outpace rival AI-driven shopping apps.

3. Demographic and Regional Adoption

Nearly 50% of the orders originated from county and hinterland customers, while 1.56 million consumers aged 60 and above completed their first online purchases through the Qwen platform.

4. Strategic Implications and Competition

The incentive blitz propelled Qwen to the top of app store rankings and highlights Alibaba’s push to integrate AI commerce across Taobao, Alipay and other services as competition with Tencent and Baidu intensifies.
