Alkami highlights need for layered intelligence as check fraud persists
ALKT•Alkami said layered fraud intelligence can help detect check fraud before funds are released. Surveys found 63% of financial institutions experienced check fraud attempts in the prior 12 months, while 58% of organizations reported check fraud in 2025.

Alkami’s analysis says combining image analysis with cross-institutional intelligence can help financial institutions target suspicious deposits while reducing unnecessary holds on legitimate transactions. A 2026 AFP survey found 72% of check users expect to continue using checks.
