Alpha Metallurgical reports wider Q2 loss and lower revenue
Alpha Metallurgical Resources posted a GAAP net loss of $12.25 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026; adjusted EBITDA fell 44.5% to $25.57 million.
Revenue dropped 10.4% to $492.86 million on 8.7% lower tons sold at 3,549, driven by reduced purchased coal and DTA shipment delays.
GAAP coal margin narrowed 65.4% to $6 million; non-GAAP coal margin slid 26.2% to $55.5 million.
2026 shipment guidance held at 14.2 million-15.4 million tons; committed and priced met volumes totaled 9.5 million tons at $128.17 per ton.
DTA’s stacker reclaimer was damaged by a June storm, leaving the terminal operational but likely slowing some stockpile handling; timing and cost impacts remain unknown.
