Altimmune said its 48-week Phase 2b IMPACT study of pemvidutide in MASH showed improvements in liver fibrosis and inflammation markers compared with placebo. Gastrointestinal adverse events were mild to moderate, with no severe cases reported, and treatment discontinuations due to adverse events were lower than placebo. The company plans to present new data at AASLD’s The Liver Meeting in Denver on November 5-9, 2026.
Preclinical hamster data showed reduced alcohol intake, which Altimmune said supports further clinical investigation in alcohol use disorder and alcohol-associated liver disease.
