Amazon cloud capacity sold out through 2027, CEO Jassy says
AMZN•Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said AWS cloud capacity is largely sold out through 2027, with significant commitments extending into 2028, as demand for AI infrastructure grows.
1. Capacity commitments
Jassy said Amazon Web Services is struggling to keep pace with demand from AI labs and enterprises. Capacity for 2026 is already sold out, he said, adding that 2027 is largely sold out and a good chunk of 2028 is committed.
2. Investment and results
Amazon said earlier this year it would spend about $220 billion in capital expenditure for 2026. Jassy said the company could invest more and that doing so would not be a bad use of capital. Amazon is scheduled to report third-quarter results on October 29.
