Amazon has launched ‘smart and secure’ Amazon Lockers at six Wereldhave shopping centres in the Netherlands, including Eggert Purmerend and Vier Meren Hoofddorp, offering free parcel collection within three days. Twelve additional lockers will roll out with APCOA and Aroundtown NL across Dutch cities like The Hague and Utrecht.

1. Amazon Lockers Launch in Netherlands

Amazon has introduced its first network of smart, secure pickup lockers across the Netherlands, giving customers a free alternative to home delivery and added delivery flexibility.

2. Initial Locations and Partners

Six Amazon Lockers are live in Wereldhave shopping centres including Eggert Purmerend, Koperwiek Capelle aan den IJssel and Vier Meren Hoofddorp, leveraging high-traffic retail sites for customer convenience.

3. Customer Pickup Process

Shoppers select a nearby locker at checkout, receive an email with a unique access code and location details, and have three days to retrieve parcels by entering the code or scanning a barcode.

4. Planned Expansion

Amazon plans to add 12 more lockers in collaboration with parking operator APCOA and property manager Aroundtown NL, followed by deployments in Alkmaar, Amstelveen, Diemen, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Vlaardingen.
