1. NSC MSD Prevention Lab Findings
National Safety Council’s MSD Solutions Lab, funded by Amazon in 2021, surveyed over 400 frontline workers across manufacturing, construction, health care, and warehousing and found more than 80% reported reduced musculoskeletal disorder symptoms or no negative impact when using preventive technologies. Exoskeletons and robotic supports were most effective at reducing strain, while wearable sensors and computer vision improved ergonomic risk awareness, with worker involvement in selecting and using these tools driving the best outcomes.
