1. Fuel Surcharge Details

Amazon will begin applying a 3.5% fuel surcharge to U.S. and Canadian orders fulfilled through Fulfillment by Amazon starting April 17, then extend it to Buy with Prime and Multi-Channel Fulfillment on May 2. The fee is calculated on fulfillment charges rather than item prices and averages roughly $0.17 per unit, potentially prompting sellers to adjust pricing or absorb costs.

2. Intel AI Chip Packaging Talks

Intel is engaged in discussions with Amazon over its EMIB and EMIB-T advanced packaging technologies, designed to boost power efficiency and density for AI workloads. Intel plans mass production of EMIB-T at its Rio Rancho, New Mexico facility, and a deal with Amazon could accelerate Intel’s foundry growth while enhancing AWS hardware performance.
