Amcor expands Dongguan plant with 7,000 sqm addition and automation
AMCR•Amcor has begun constructing a 7,000-square-meter expansion and automated warehouse at its Dongguan plant, increasing its campus to over 38,000 square meters to boost flexible packaging capacity. The project, featuring solvent-free laminators and high-speed bag-making systems, targets completion by July 2027 and aims to strengthen supply chain resilience.
1. Expansion Details
Amcor has launched a project to build a 7,000-square-meter manufacturing facility and automated warehouse at its existing Dongguan campus, bringing total site area to over 38,000 square meters. This expansion is designed to increase flexible packaging output and accommodate higher customer demand in South China.
2. Technology Features
The new facility will incorporate automated solvent-free laminators, high-speed bag-making machines and automated bag arranging systems, all built around intelligent manufacturing principles. These technologies are expected to enhance operational efficiency and support the development of recycle-ready packaging for food, home and personal care markets.

By strengthening its manufacturing network in a key industrial hub, Amcor aims to bolster supply chain resilience and better serve customers across the Asia Pacific region. The Dongguan expansion leverages over 30 years of experience in China and complements the company’s 23 local manufacturing sites and two R&D centers.
