Amcor has sold its Erie, Pennsylvania and Hattiesburg, Mississippi beverage-closure molding plants to Closure Systems International, exiting part of its Rigid Packaging Solutions North America unit. The company is also in talks to divest its €300m-revenue ESE World waste-management business across three European plants, aiming for a Q2 2026 close.

Amcor has sold its beverage-closure compression molding facilities in Erie, Pennsylvania and Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Closure Systems International, divesting a portion of its Rigid Packaging Solutions North America business.

2. Talks to divest ESE World

The company is in talks to sell its ESE World waste-management business—which generates €300m in annual revenue from three plants in Neuruppin, Olpe and Crissey—to an affiliate of Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, with plans for operational changes and selective add-on acquisitions.

3. Transaction timeline and strategic impact

Both transactions are targeted to close in the second quarter of 2026, pending works council consultation and regulatory approvals, as Amcor refocuses on core packaging operations and evaluates deployment of divestment proceeds toward growth initiatives.
