Amcor opened a new $35 million healthcare packaging coating facility in Subang Jaya, Selangor, deploying air-knife coating technology for coated medical paper used in sterile medical device packaging. The site marks Amcor’s expanded manufacturing footprint in Malaysia and introduces first-of-its-kind capabilities to Southeast Asia.

By localizing production, the fully integrated facility provides dual sourcing options and strengthens long-term supply chain reliability. The setup supports rapid pilot-to-production scale-up, accelerating commercialization timelines and offering regional customers quicker access to critical sterile packaging solutions.

The project involved close collaboration between Amcor’s US technical specialists and the Malaysian team in installation, commissioning and operational training.
