Ameren Illinois energizes solar energy center in Peoria

Ameren Illinois said its $20 million Peoria Solar Energy Center was energized on Oct. 16, 2026. The 2.5-megawatt facility includes battery storage with 1.5 megawatts of capacity and 4 megawatt-hours of storage.

1. Facility details

The solar facility supplies power to Ameren Illinois’ electric distribution system. It is the utility’s third generating facility developed in 28 years.
