Ameren Missouri targets 2,100 MW combined-cycle gas capacity by 2031 in updated 20-year resource plan
AEE•Ameren Missouri’s preferred 20-year plan targets 2,100 MW of combined-cycle gas capacity by 2031, alongside new gas, battery, solar, nuclear and wind resources. It also anticipates 2.8 GW of signed large-load demand by 2030, with infrastructure costs assigned to those customers.
1. Long-term capacity plan
Ameren Missouri filed an updated 20-year integrated resource plan outlining a capacity buildout to support reliability. The preferred portfolio targets 2,100 MW of combined-cycle gas by 2031, 2,800 MW by 2035 and 1,400 MW by 2042; it also adds 1,900 MW of simple-cycle gas by 2029, 2,400 MW of battery storage and 1,300 MW of solar by 2030. The roadmap includes 500 MW of natural gas fuel cells by 2030, 1,200 MW of new nuclear by 2040 and 1,500 MW of wind after 2030. Ameren Missouri expects 2.8 GW of signed large-load demand by 2030, with infrastructure costs assigned to those customers.
